Taming Vanuatu
My fishing experience in Efate Vanuatu was just a year ago but it feels like a lifetime. The unexplored countless islands and sea mounts surrounding the main island makes it a great place to do wild fishing, popping and jigging in. For me, it’s a place that is sincerely begging the attention of anglers.
When I got an opportunity for a vacation, I immediately contacted Ocean Blue Fishing Adventures to host my fishing trip. I was so excited to visit the islands of Vanuatu and satisfy my search for some coral trout, wahoo, job fish, big tooth tuna, GTs, bluefin trevally, and several other large reef dwelling creatures.
The fishing was excellent, I must say, in addition to the good weather condition during my visit. I truly enjoyed dropping jigs into between 40-120m of the bluest ocean I’ve ever seen along with the experienced anglers of Ocean Blue Fishing Adventures. Also, I got to test the Saltiga jigging and popping gear on these big bruisers in the process. It was amazing! I was also able to explore other distant locations which include Mataso Island, Cooks Reef, Scott’s Rock and the beautiful Monument Rock.
I stayed in Ocean Blue Fishing Adventures unique angling lodge – Trees and Fishes situated on the shores of Port Havannah. It just reopened and I was so lucky to be one of its first guests.
Trees & Fishes Anglers Retreat is a comfy accommodation for fishing enthusiasts. It’s also a place that offers genuine tranquility for those who want to temporarily leave the busy and stressful city. I love how I was treated as a guest and I think they had tamed my tummy too with their sumptuous and freshly cooked fish and local meats served every day.
My last year’s vacation is not just a great one… it’s an unforgettable experience that I would love to tell to everyone over and over again. I’m deeply thrilled with the hands-on and professional service of the Ocean Blue Fishing Adventures staff and I will definitely recommend them to any travelling angler!
